Refine text
Refining replaces your selected text in place — no copying, no chat window. Select, trigger, pick a card, done.
1. Select your text
In any app — Mail, Slack, Notes, a browser, a code comment — highlight the text you want to improve.

2. Open the floating menu
Press your global shortcut (⌘O by default) while the text is selected. A floating menu appears right next to your selection. Under Refine with…, click the Refiner card you want.

3. Your text is replaced
A Refining… pill shows while the AI works, then your selection is swapped for the improved version — right where you were typing.

Good to know
- Accessibility permission is required so Refiner-AI can read your selection and write the result back. The first time, macOS will prompt you — allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
- The first time you refine, you’ll be asked to agree to how your text is processed. Nothing is sent until you agree.
- Press Esc or click away to dismiss the menu without refining.
Want the result to account for background info — a project, a person, an earlier message? See Refine with context.
