Create an Examine card
Where a Refiner card rewrites your text, an Examine card reads it and shows you something new — a summary, a translation, an explanation, or your own custom analysis — in a separate window. Your original text is never changed.
1. Add an Examine card
Open the popover, switch to the Examine tab, click + at the top-right, and choose New Examine Card.
2. Pick a type
Every Examine card has a Type. Choose one of four:
- Summarize — condense the selection into its key points.
- Translate — render the selection in your content language.
- Explain — explain what the selection means in plain terms.
- Custom — you write the instruction (a Custom Instruction field appears), so the card does exactly what you specify — e.g. “Give the definition of the selected text” or “List the action items.”

For Summarize, Translate, and Explain you can also turn on Extra instruction to add optional guidance (for example, “Keep it to three bullet points”).
3. Name and save
Give the card a Title and click Save. It now appears in the Examine list and in the floating menu, under the Examine section.
