No. Cards are saved on your Mac first, so you can create, edit, delete, and reorder them fully offline. The sync to your account is best-effort — if you’re offline it’s simply skipped, and your changes upload the next time a sync succeeds.

A context is a note you store once — background the AI should keep in mind while it refines, like a project name, a product, or who you’re writing to. Before you run a card, pick which context to apply, and the result fits your situation instead of only the words on screen.

Yes. The global shortcut is ⌘O by default, but you can record your own under the menu’s Settings — pick whatever combination feels natural and doesn’t clash with your other apps.

Yes. In Settings you can set how many Refiner cards and how many Examine cards show in the floating menu (five of each by default), so the menu stays as short or as complete as you like.
