Cookie & Consent Notice

This notice explains how TechMO LLC (“refiner-ai”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on refiner-ai.app and the account dashboard (the “Sites”). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

This notice covers our websites. It does not cover the refiner-ai macOS app, whose data handling — including how selected text is processed — is described in the Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage. They let a site remember your actions and preferences and keep you signed in. Technologies may be set by us (“first-party”) or by service providers (“third-party”).

Today our Sites do not set advertising or analytics cookies. We use only first-party local storage that is essential to the dashboard, plus one third-party web-font provider on the marketing site (described below).

2. Categories we use

a. Strictly necessary. Required for the Sites to function — for example, to authenticate you and keep you signed in on the account dashboard. These cannot be switched off through a consent tool.

b. Preferences. Remember choices such as your interface language (EN or JA).

We do not currently use analytics/performance or marketing/advertising cookies.

Third-party resource (marketing site only). The marketing site loads the “Inter” web font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). This does not set a cookie, but it causes your browser to request the font from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking technologies on the Sites.

Because we currently set only strictly-necessary local storage and a language-preference item, and use no third-party trackers, there is no non-essential-cookie consent to give or withdraw on the Sites. You can still:

clear or block site storage through your browser settings (blocking some may affect how the dashboard works, for example by signing you out); and
control how your browser handles the Google Fonts request through your browser or network settings.

If we later introduce analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this notice and, where required by law (including for users in the EU/UK), request your consent through a cookie banner before setting them.

5. Changes

We may update this notice as our use of cookies and similar technologies changes. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, request renewed consent.
